【预告】罗格斯大学郭锂教授应邀来我校作学术报告

报告题目On Rota-Baxter Algebras

报告摘要

The concept of a Rota-Baxter algebra is an abstraction of the algebra of continuous functions equipped with the integral operator. It is originated from the probability study of Glenn Baxter in 1960 and was developed further by combinatorists such as Cartier and Rota in the 1960s and 1970s. Independently, this structure was discovered in the Lie algebra context as the operator form of the classical Yang-Baxter equation, named after the well-known physicists. In this century, Rota-Baxter algebra has found important theoretical developments and applications in mathematical physics, operads, number theory and combinatorics. We will introduced concepts, examples, structures and applications related to Rota-Baxter algebras.

报告人简介

锂,美国罗格斯大学纽瓦克分校教授,现任罗格斯大学数学与计算机科学系系主任。他在兰州大学获学士学位,在武汉大学获硕士学位,在华盛顿大学获博士学位,并在俄亥俄州立大学、普林斯顿高等研究院和佐治亚州大学作博士后。郭锂博士在数论领域的研究工作被怀尔斯证明费马大定理的著名论文所引用,还把怀尔斯的“主猜想”推广到高权模形式,并证明其伴随的 motive 的 Tamagawa 数猜想。他近年来从事罗巴(Rota-Baxter)代数的研究,成为该领域的领军人物。曾应邀为美国数学会在“What Is”栏目中介绍Rota-Baxter代数,并出版这个领域的第一部专著。郭锂博士的研究涉及结合代数,李代数,Hopf代数,operad,数论,组合,计算数学,量子场论和可积系统等数学和理论物理的广泛领域。已主持完成多项美国国家科学基金会项目,发表学术论文80余篇,出版罗巴代数的专著1部, 合作编写文集3部。
